In uscita a fine Maggio, è un libro collettivo che contiene 6 storie di 6 autori diversi, tutte scritte da Barbara Canepa e Alessandro Barbucci. I 6 episodi rappresentano side stories precedenti al tomo 1 di Skydoll. Alla fiera internazionale del fumetto di Angouleme ho potuto sentire l'interesse del pubblico, e soprattutto dei fans di Skydoll, per questa attesissima uscita. Gli altri fantastici disegnatori chiamati a interpretare Noa sono: Claudio Acciari - Pierre Mony Chan - Riff - Bengal - Barbucci (padrone di casa!)
Its release date is scheduled for the end of May: this is a collective book containing 6 stories by 6 different authors, all written by Barbara Canepa and Alessandro Barbucci. The 6 episodes depict side stories prior to Skydoll’s volume I. At the international comic festival of Angouleme I could feel the interest of the audience, especially of Skydoll’s fans, for this long-awaited issue. The other great artists called to represent Noa are: Claudio Acciari - Pierre Mony Chan - Riff - Bengal - Barbucci (the master of the house!)

E' nelle edicole e fumetterie il numero 4 di BRANDNEW! la rivista del fumetto emergente italiano.
Ho realizzato l'illustrazione per la cover di questo numero, la Sweet mutilata che da un po' è nella gallery del KS3.
Devo dire che sono piuttosto deluso dal fatto che la mia illu è stata ribaltata a specchio senza chiedermi nulla e senza mostrarmi un anteprima dell'imapginazione.
Sarete daccordo con me, questa immagine ha un suo senso di lettura, e una dinamica che no può essere ribaltata arbitrariamente!
Now available in newagents and in comics' shops the 4th issue of BRANDNEW!, the magazine of the Italian emerging comics.
I created the illustration for the cover of the current issue, the "Sweet mutilata", which is in the KS3's gallery since a bit of time.
I must confess that I'm quite disappointed because my illu was published mirrored, without asking for my permission nor showing me a preview of the cover layout.
You'll agree with me, this image has its own "sense of reading" and a dynamics than can't be arbitrarily capsized!

Posso dire di essere in tutte le edicole e librerie francesi! Ho realizzato la cover art per Supreme dimension #5 il magazine soleil sul fumetto francese.
Il tema non è uno dei miei preferiti, anzi, non stravedo proprio per il fantasy! inoltre, in questo caso, dovevo rappresentare il filone fantasy francese, piuttosto classico, e non mi erano permesse originalità o scivolate un po più cool tipiche dell'immaginario giapponese. Ma credo di aver trovato un asoluzione soddisfacente :) Oltre alla cover, SD#5 contiene anche un'intervista di 2 pagine con qualche immagine.
Qui l'illustrazione fantasy.
I won't lie if I say that I'm currently in every newsagent and bookshop of France! In fact I created the cover art for SUPREME DIMENSION #5, Soleil's magazine about French comics.
The subject is not among my favourites, in fact I don't like fantasy at all! Moreover, in this paticular case, I had to represent the French fantasy lode, pretty classic, and i wasn't allowed to be original or to add cooler features typical of Japanese background. But I think I ended up with a satisfactory solution :)
Other than its cover, SD#5 contains also a 2-page interview of myself with some images.

L'omaggio a SkyDoll che capeggia sulla cover di questo update verrà pubblicato entro la fine dell' anno in un libro speciale che conterrà tributi di moltissimi autori da tutto il mondo! Il libro uscirà in Francia, Usa e Giappone...
Tra gli autori presenti, anche alcuni giapponesi (Okama!).
Barbara Canepa è rimasta molto soddisfatta anche dell'altra illustrazione di Skydoll che ho disegnato per "riscaldamento" Potrebbe essere solo l'inizio di interessanti collaborazioni... Incontrando Noa, non si può che rimanere coinvolti in qualche esorbitante avventura... (è_é)
The SkyDoll homage you see on the cover of this update is going to be published at the end of this year, inside a special book which contains tributes by many authors from all over the world! This book will be distributed in France, USA and Japan..
Among the authors, there are also some Japanese (Okama!).
The other SkyDoll illustration I drew as a "trial" fully satisfied Barbara Canepa as well. This could be the beginning of interesting collaborations... Once you meet Noa, you can't help getting involved in some exicting adventure!

Sarà questo il titolo dello "Special Artbook" dedicato a Wondercity che verrà pubblicato a marzo. La Pubblicazione è slittata da settembre alla primavera 2006 per permettere a nuovi autori di aggiungersi al progetto, soprattutto autori del mercato francese.
Interessante segnalare che è stato realizzato un promo per annunciare questo libro, e come illustrazione promozionale e rappresentativa è stata scelta proprio la mia!
This is the title of the "Special Artbook" dedicated to Wondercity which is going to be published in March. Its publication has been moved from September to Springtime 2006 in order to let new authors (mainly French) take part to the project.
I'm proud to point out that my illustration was chosen as advertisement.

A Luccacomics 2005 è stato presentato un albo speciale di "Agenzia Incantesimi" che raccoglie tutte le storie a colori di questo "spin-off" tratto da Jonathan Steel. Tra un episodio e l'altro si trovano illustrazioni tributo di diversi autori dedicate alle due protagoniste: Miryam e Jasmine.
E' presente anche una mia illustrazione, Jasmine, che potete vedere qui.
At Luccacomics 2005 a special issue of "Agenzia Incantesimi" was presented: it gathers many/all the stories in colour (?) of this spin-off taken from Jonathan Steel. In between the episodes, you can find tribute illustrations by several authors, all dedicated to the two main characters: Miryam e Jasmine. There is also an illustration of mine, Jasmine. E' online la versione 3.0 del kamenstudio! (^o^)/
Il sito è stato ristrutturato, sono state inserite nuove illustrazioni nella gallery.
Inoltre c'è stata una rivoluzione HW nella mia postazione di lavoro: il PC è stato relegato alle sole scansioni, ora lavoro su un Powerbook G4 15" con un processore da 1.67 Mhz e 1 Gb di RAM. Inoltre ho da poco sostituito la mia piccola e fedele tavoletta grafica WACOM graphire A6 con una imparagonabile Intuos 3 A5. Parte del ritardo alla pubblicazione del KS3 è dovuto anche al passaggio di piattaforma... ma questo no basterebbe a scusarmi (-_-;)

I reorganized the site, in the gallery you can find new illustrations.
Moreover, my workstation underwent a HW revolution: my PC is used for scanning purposes only: I now work with a Powerbook G4 15” with 1.67 Mhz processor and 1Gb RAM. In addition, my little and trusty graphic tablet WACOM graphire A6 has been just replaced by a matchless Intuos 3 A5. Part of the KS3 publishing delay is due to the platform transfer…
but this is not enough to justify me! (-_-;)

A Settembre, sotto la nuova etichetta Free Books, verrà pubblicato in fumetteria, (nell'attesa della serie regolare che partirà a ottobre), un libro che si intitolerà "WONDERCITY TRIBUTE" e che conterrà 46 illustrazioni, in formato cartonato francese, in omaggio a Wondercity, successivamente uscirà in francia all'inizio del 2006.
Sono stati scelti 46 autori professionisti (e non solo, a quanto pare...) per realizzare questi 46 omaggi, uno più interessante dell'altro. Anche a me è stato chiesto di realizzare una personale interpretazione di Wondercity, la scelta del soggetto però non è caduta sui protagonisti ma su uno dei cattivi, il conte Silberner, che mi ha affascinato per la sua aria Nazi-gotica alla quale non potevo resistere!
L'illustrazione è stata consegnata e presto andrà in stampa con il resto del materiale. Sul KS3 verrà pubblicata prossimamente, in concomitanza con l'uscita cartacea.
In September, the new publishing label Free Books is distributing a book titled "WONDERCITY TRIBUTE" in comics stores (anticipating the regular series that is starting on October in Italy and at the beginning of 2006 in France): it contains 46 illustrations, in French format, as homage to Wondercity.
46 professional (and not…) artists were chosen to make these 46 tributes, each of them very interesting.
When I was asked to realize a personal interpretation of Wondercity I chose, instead of the main characters, one of the villains, Silberner Count, whose nazi-gothic look charmed me.
This illustration has already been handed in and soon will be printed with the other works.
I will publish it soon on KS3, when the hard copy will appear in print. |
